An enthusiasm to learn about Walter Scott and investment management plus good organisational skills are a pre-requisite. We’re looking for self-starters with excellent communication skills, adaptability and ambition. Excellent academic standards combined with other interests outside education are also essential.

A CV and covering letter should be sent to [email protected]. The application window for our 2024 internship is now closed. We will re-open this in August 2024 for our 2025 programmes.

I was originally an intern with Walter Scott and I was lucky to be offered a permanent role after I graduated. It’s an exciting place to work with every day presenting new challenges. I feel fortunate to be empowered to take responsibility and make decisions. My understanding of investment management has broadened as I’ve learnt directly from experienced colleagues who are happy to share their knowledge.

When I graduated, I didn’t imagine that I would end up working in investment management but the transition is not one I’ll ever regret. In my role here, I’ve had the opportunity to really understand our business and, crucially, our clients. As a relatively small business, you know everyone and lines of communications are short. Every day is different, which keeps it interesting and I take great pride in being able to work with our clients around the world on a daily basis.
